Areas of practice:
In ancillary relief his practice often involves matters of greater substance and complexity; however he is happy to continue to be instructed in the more straightforward cases.
With more difficult matters he strongly encourages instructing solicitors to involve counsel at the very earliest stages and can point to many cases where with his assistance, agreement has been reached without the need to issue proceedings. Tom is happy to provide advice both in writing and in conference.
Cases with a pensions dispute are something of a speciality and he has presented seminars on this subject for solicitors in partnership with specialist actuaries.
Tom is a member of the 3PB asset forfeiture team with a particular interest in cases where there are issues relating to divorce and property ownership.
He came to the bar after a successful career in business. A personable and persuasive advocate he has conducted cases in all aspects of family law including representing local authorities in cases of non accidental injury to children and all aspects of private law.
Tom is 'Direct Access' trained.
