Rachael is a specialist family law practitioner. She is happy to discuss the merits of a case initially by telephone or email, and welcomes instructions to advise in writing or in conference. She has a special focus on clients who may be very distressed or are otherwise difficult to advise.
Rachael has a particular interest in matrimonial and civil partnership finance. She has a wealth of experience in cases involving large or complex pensions, businesses, land, concealment of assets and intervening third party interests. She undertakes cases involving disputes between cohabitees and co-owners, as well as applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989. Rachael also has experience of dealing with jurisdictional and other matters in relation to marriage and divorce.
In private law applications, Rachael has considerable experience of representing clients in applications for residence and contact, including special guardianship applications. She regularly undertakes fact-finding hearings involving serious physical and sexual abuse and has acted in cases where a guardian has been appointed to represent the child and the Official Solicitor is involved.
Rachael regularly represents parties in public law applications for care and supervision orders and has experience of dealing with secure accommodation orders. She has dealt with cases involving neglect, non-accidental injuries, substance misuse and mental health problems.
In her spare time, Rachael enjoys marathon running, snowboarding, travelling and cooking.
