Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence

Mark has a wide experience of Personal Injury claims, acting regularly for both Claimant and Defendant in both fast-track and multi-track cases. His advisory practice is also busy and together with his court practice, encompasses the following areas:

• Quantum hearings, including many typical whiplash claims, but also claims involving injuries to arms and legs, scarring, facial injuries (particularly nose), loss of smell and taste, CSF leaks and minor neurological injuries, damage to hands and feet including ‘mallet finger’ and psychiatric injury;
• A niche practice in trichological (damage to hair) claims;
• ‘Trip and slip’ cases – both on liability and on indemnities under the Highways Act;
• Occupiers’ liability;
• Employers’ liability – including the question of determining the correct employer from multiple contractors and sub-contractors;
• Road Traffic Accidents, with a broad familiarity with motorcycle cases;

Before coming to the Bar, Mark also worked for a medico-legal expert and so brings this experience to his ability to understand and query expert advice in addition to the cross-examination of expert witnesses.
