Katherine has frequently advised and appeared on behalf of local education authorities in appeals to the First Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability) and appeared in the High Court in relation to an application for Judicial Review. She has also acted as a Legal Advisor to Admissions and Exclusions Appeals Panels and has acted for appellants in Admissions Appeals. She has advised local educational authorities on such matters as the organisation of work experience for young people.

She also has a private law education practice, having advised in relation to breach of contract claims concerning well-known independent schools, universities and providers of vocational training.
