Family

Elaine Strachan is a specialist in matrimonial finance. She deals with claims of moderate income and capital levels in the County court as well as those involving more substantial resources in the Principal Registry.

She has experience of a wide range of cases including those involving modest family businesses, larger corporate assets, multi-generational farming businesses, Trusts of Land claims and various types of pension arrangements, including both military and police schemes.

She has dealt with applications to freeze assets and set aside dispositions, including the transfer of assets out of the jurisdiction.

In addition to undertaking advocacy, she will also prepare documents as required. She commonly drafts Schedules of Assets, Financial Questionnaires, First Appointment Documentation, Questions to Experts and Applications for Orders under Section 37 MCA 1973.

Elaine also undertakes some private law children work.

She is a member of the Family Law Bar Association and the Treasurer of the Oxford branch of the FLBA.
